THIS SWEATER IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT BUT CAN BE MADE TO ORDER FOR YOU AT ANY TIME. PLEASE ALLOW APPROX. 6 WEEKS FOR HAND KNITTING. THANK YOU!
There is nothing more luxurious than a sweater, hand knit with patience and dedication, in one of the rarest and most sought after yarns there is: qiviut, the under down of the muskox. It is also called the "cashmere of the North" (this particular qiviut was spun in Canada). It is a quite rare material (I am on a waiting list to receive more stock!), hard to come by and therefore more expensive than any other yarn.
Qiviut is said to be 8 times warmer than wool by weight and even softer than cashmere itself. If only photos allowed you tactile experience you would want to wrap yourself in this incredibly soft material! The sweater only weighs 350grams (=less than 1 pound).
The classic knit pattern gives the sweater in submariner style softness without comparison. While knitting, the qiviut seems to "bloom" into soft and squishy stitches. Ribs at both sides give a bit of elasticity and adaptability to most sizes. The sweater is finished with a round neck.
If you prefer a different design or style, please email me, I am happy to accommodate your personal vision.
