Scarf "Newcastle Island" - Pure Vicuña
Material:
Pure vicuña in its natural colour (similar to copper, cinnamon).
Vicuña is extremely rare, there are only approx. 200,000 wild animals living in the Peruvian Andes at highest altitudes which makes their fiber extremely warm. It takes sometimes years to regrow the fur after shearing (can only be shorn every 3 years and have to be caught from the wild). They are protected by conservation - this rarity is the reason for the high price of their wool.
Vicuña fiber is the finest fiber in the world which makes it approx. 10% lighter than cashmere. It is described as soft and solid vs soft and fuzzy like qiviut.
Measurements:
Length: 57" (= 145cm)
Width: 6" (= 15cm)
Care:
Handwash in lukewarm water only, with special wool detergent. Rinse well, lightly squeeze out any excess water and lay flat to dry (on a towel on a drying rack). Or professional dry cleaning.
