Before I knit garments in expensive high end materials such as cashmere, yak or qiviut, sometimes I test the appearance of patterns or pattern combinations in less expensive and man made materials. 

This cream coloured, soft shrug / cape / shoulder warmer in delicate lace pattern for the winter / spring bride or for cooler evenings at your wedding is such a "pilot" garment.

The shrug shows a very feminine lace pattern all around and an intricate lace panel that accentuates the back. The upper edge is finished with crocheted arches that hold a soft and elegantly shiny satin ribbon with which the shrug can be adjusted to the desired width: you can wear it closer to the neck or lower down on your shoulders.

It will keep the bride protected from a cool breeze in the evening or compliment the wedding gown at a winter wedding.
